And they can be\u00a0addressed with patience and without pressure.<\/p>\n<h2>Why Some Teens Stop Taking Care of\u00a0Themselves<\/h2>\n<p>This struggle often shows up\u00a0between the ages of\u00a011\u00a0and 18\u00a0and affects about 1\u00a0in\u00a05\u00a0teens. Is\u00a0there anything that helps you feel that way?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What Helps Teens Start Caring for Themselves Again<\/h2>\n<p>To\u00a0rebuild a\u00a0routine, teens need to\u00a0feel two things: they have the strength and they\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s what might help:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left; width: 100%;\">\n<li><strong>Praise small steps. <\/strong>Even just washing their face is\u00a0progress\u2014acknowledge it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make a\u00a0plan together.<\/strong> A\u00a0simple morning and evening checklist can be\u00a0a\u00a0great start.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use reminders and visual cues.<\/strong> Try a\u00a0list on\u00a0the bathroom mirror, or\u00a0a\u00a0gentle app notification.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create a\u00a0welcoming space.<\/strong> Favorite soap, soft towels, quiet time in\u00a0the bathroom, or\u00a0music they like\u2014it all lowers resistance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shift responsibility gradually. <\/strong>They don\u2019t need to\u00a0do\u00a0everything at\u00a0once.
