It\u2019s a\u00a0restriction imposed by\u00a0Apple itself. Here\u2019s why it\u00a0exists\u00a0\u2014 and where you can find this information instead.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>How It\u00a0Works<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In\u00a02021, Apple introduced a\u00a0toolkit for parental control apps that was designed with privacy protection built directly into the system architecture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apps can set limits and restrictions, but they cannot see:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left; width: 100%;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which apps a\u00a0child uses,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">how long they use them,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or\u00a0which websites they visit.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This information is\u00a0encrypted and inaccessible to\u00a0anyone outside the device\u00a0\u2014 including developers and even Apple itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technically, it\u00a0works like this: when a\u00a0parent selects apps to\u00a0limit, Apple\u2019s system sends our app anonymous encrypted tokens instead of\u00a0actual app names. These tokens cannot be\u00a0decoded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As\u00a0Apple explains, the system was specifically designed so\u00a0that nobody outside the family group\u00a0\u2014 including app developers and Apple\u00a0\u2014 can know which apps or\u00a0websites a\u00a0child uses.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>A\u00a0Privacy Decision<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why did Apple choose this approach?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In\u00a0short: privacy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before 2021, many parental control apps on\u00a0iPhone relied on\u00a0a\u00a0corporate management tool originally created for company-owned employee devices. It\u00a0gave apps deep access to\u00a0phone data, including information about installed apps and usage activity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple decided that using enterprise-level monitoring technology on\u00a0children\u2019s phones created privacy risks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why the company introduced Screen Time API\u00a0\u2014 a\u00a0system that allows parents to\u00a0manage a\u00a0child\u2019s device without giving apps access to\u00a0detailed usage data.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Apple\u2019s perspective, parental controls should allow families to\u00a0set rules and boundaries\u00a0\u2014 but not automatically grant access to\u00a0every detail of\u00a0a\u00a0child\u2019s digital life.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What This Means for You<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In\u00a0practice, this means that if\u00a0your child uses an\u00a0iPhone, our app cannot display statistics for individual apps.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This limitation applies to\u00a0every parental control app in\u00a0the App Store\u00a0\u2014 not just ours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At\u00a0the same time, our app can still:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left; width: 100%;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">set screen time limits and schedules;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">block specific apps;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">show your child\u2019s location.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to\u00a0See App Usage Time<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can still access this information directly on\u00a0Apple devices\u00a0\u2014 Apple built detailed Screen Time statistics into iOS itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If\u00a0your child\u2019s device is\u00a0connected to\u00a0your Family Sharing group, you can see all app usage data from your own iPhone:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Settings \u2192 Screen Time \u2192 select your child\u2019s name<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There you\u2019ll see:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;
