The Big Findmykids Update: Bringing Families Closer and Safer Than Ever
Findmykids has some exciting news—we’ve implemented a new design in the app to make it even easier for families to connect, support each other, and stay safe together!
After 10 years of helping parents stay connected with their children through real-time location tracking and parental controls, our development team saw an opportunity to evolve the app—from a monitoring tool into a platform for mutual family connection and reassurance.
When you open the Findmykids app, you’ll notice some changes in the overall design and the color palette. It’s easier to navigate and provides an aesthetically pleasing view. But more than just the design has changed—there are new functionalities that come with the update.
With this update, families can expect several important improvements, including:
- Unlimited family circles
- Mutual location visibility between parents and children
- Key features all in one place
- Simpler parental control dashboard
With these refreshed features and designs, Findmykids has become even easier to use to keep families safe and connected.
Expanded Family Circles

At first, Findmykids focused on parents tracking their children. But with the expanded family circles, families can now add additional members to view the child’s location.
This feature has the potential to introduce 8 million new members—including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close family friends.
This expanded family circle provides complete flexibility and inclusiveness for family members. It’s great for a family trip or when your child is spending a week at their grandparents’ house. You simply add the grandparents to the app, and they can track your child during their stay.
“A circle can be a family, a group of friends, or even adult children staying connected with elderly parents,” the team adds. “And if you only need it temporarily — for a trip or an event—the circle can be easily adjusted or removed.”
Mutual Tracking: Children Viewing Parents’ Locations
Initially, Findmykids was geared towards parents tracking their child’s location. However, with the latest update, children can now see their parents’ locations in real time.
More than 1.5 million children now track their parents’ locations, helping them know where they are and when they can expect them to arrive, especially when picking them up after school or from a friend’s house.
This mutual tracking removes the previous hierarchical system and turns the parent-child relationship into a more horizontal, mutually respected one in terms of privacy. It’s just another tool to further build trust and reassurance in the relationship while reducing anxiety in parents.
“Originally, the app had two clear roles — parent and child,” the Findmykids team explains. “The parent could see everything, while the child was mostly a passive participant. But we believe children should be treated as full members of the family. When they can also see where their parents are, the relationship becomes more balanced, transparent, and based on mutual trust.”
Findmykids Is Expanding Beyond Families With Children
The unlimited family circles expand Findmykids beyond the traditional parent–child relationship.
Today, 15% of new circles are created by couples without children who still want to stay connected and aware of each other’s location.
With a 10% increase in older users, the app has also become a great tool for people keeping track of elderly parents. Many adult children will use the app to know the location of a family member who suffers from Alzheimer’s or dementia for peace of mind and added protection.
“Our users often stay with Findmykids for years,” the team explains. “Children grow up and become independent, but families are already used to staying connected through the app. It didn’t feel right that those connections would simply disappear once a child leaves the system. Circles allow people to keep seeing each other and staying connected naturally.”
In other words, Findmykids is becoming a tool not only for parenting, but for family connection in the broader sense.
The New Interface: Design as a Reflection of Care

Along with the exclusive new features, the whole app has undergone a redesign. The new interface makes it extremely easy to see your family’s data and information all in one place.
With a cleaner layout and a calming color palette, parents can easily navigate features such as location tracking, route history, screen time statistics, and more. The moment they open the app, they instantly understand where their loved ones are and what’s happening.
For the parent who feels easily anxious when their child doesn’t pick up the phone right away, Findmykids’ new interface helps you remain calm. In just seconds, you’ll know where your child is and have access to start the Loud Signal feature to get their attention.
All Essential Features for the Whole Family in One Place

It’s no secret that Findmykids offers a ton of helpful features, from parental controls to getting your child’s attention when their phone is on silent. With the new app design, parents can easily access all of these essential features in just one place.
This one-touch navigation makes it easy to set parental controls, track your child, and enjoy the peace of mind Findmykids provides.
Parental Controls
Findmykids is more than just a location-tracking app. It offers parental controls such as setting screen time limits and restricting access to the child’s device remotely.
Parents can help their children build healthy digital habits, reducing how much time they spend on their phone or tablet, with these parental controls. In just a few taps, parents can temporarily block the entire device or restrict access to specific apps for a chosen period of time.
Plus, with the improved app statistics section, parents can see exactly how much time their child spends on certain apps and even where they use these apps the most.
Loud Signal & Sound Around
That nervous feeling parents get when their child hasn’t answered the phone after the third time trying to call them is well-known. But with Findmykids, this nervousness can disappear immediately.
Our features, Loud Signal and Sound Around, can give parents peace of mind when their child doesn’t pick up the phone. Here’s how they work:
- Loud Signal — When your child’s phone is on silent, you can get their attention with Loud Signal. It will cause the phone to make a loud sound, even if it is set to silent. This is perfect for children who forget to turn the ringtone on or if they’ve lost their phone somewhere.
- Sound Around — Parents can access the microphone on their child’s phone to listen in on what is happening around them through the Findmykids app. When Sound Around is activated, a notification will appear on the child’s phone, letting them know the feature is in use. This not only provides peace of mind to parents but also respects the child’s privacy.
Both of these security features are super easy to find thanks to the app’s new design. No more shuffling through screens and menus. In just a few taps, you’ll have access to your child’s location and surroundings and have the ability to get their attention.
Real-Time Location
With up to 99.8% accuracy, Findmykids provides the real-time location of family members. Unlike other apps that can be a few meters off, Findmykids offers precise location information, making it easy to locate family members (and even lost phones).
The best part? Users can see the exact locations of their family members right when they open the app! In seconds, you can know precisely where your loved ones are at all times.
Route Predictor
Findmykids is always updating its location-tracking technology. The latest feature to make it to the app? Route prediction.
With up to 70% accuracy, Findmykids will predict which route your child will take when traveling from one location to the next. You’ll know, in advance, exactly where your child is going. This helps parents understand their child’s movements and react quickly if something unexpected happens. Plus, with route prediction, parents will see an estimated arrival time.
This route prediction is helpful for both parents and children to track their locations. For example, when a parent is picking their child up from soccer practice, the child can see exactly how far their parent is and when they can expect to arrive.
This unique feature saves time, improves communication, and keeps family management seamless.
Restriction of In-App Purchases and 18+ Websites
Protecting your children involves more than tracking their location in real-time. It’s also about keeping track of their online activity.
In the parental control dashboard, you can easily restrict your child from making unauthorized in-app purchases. Additionally, you can block all websites that require users to be 18 years or older.
Instead of individually blocking inappropriate online content, Findmykids does it for you with a simple toggle of a button. One tap and your child is safe from adult content or inappropriate online apps.
